Desmond Venable started the Red Wolf Brass Band at Riverdale Middle two years ago, but last was the first year it performed at the French Quarter Festival. The Riverdale Middle School Jazz Band has been performing for the community and other cultural events promoting New Orleans’ rich musical heritage. Under his direction the band has thrived and become one that is known for their musicality and musicianship. Positive Vibrations Foundation aims to further enrich their skills and cultural experiences with a fellowship to attend the workshops and perform at the LEAF Festival in Black Mountain, North Carolina in October.
